Darren Edwards Photography is a professional photographic studio located in the beautiful world heritage listed Blue Mountains west of Sydney, Australia. Services available for commission include family portraits and commercial and fine art images.

All commissions are bespoke and tailored to your needs — whether to commemorate a special occasion such as an anniversary or birthday, to showcase your business or professional services — or simply to celebrate your family.

Portrait Commissions

Darren Edwards Photography specialises in portrait photography of the highest quality and professional standard.

When you commission a portrait, Darren will consult with you to recommend the perfect location for you and your family photo session. This may be a sheltered, green leafy park for a young family or a stunning mountain backdrop for older families, individuals and couples. A carefully chosen location helps you relax and enjoy the experience which in turn creates the most beautiful, unique and memorable images.

The best time of the day for photography is in the ‘golden hour’ before sunset, and this is the time we prefer to schedule our shoots.

Shortly after your portrait session we arrange to meet again for a presentation of your images. Here you will be guided through the process of selecting your favourite images from among the photographs.

Ways you can enjoy your photos

Most of our clients, having enjoyed the process and seen the results, choose our folios. These include enlargements, photo books and DVD slideshows that can be shared and admired by friends and family.

All products are professionally produced, on archive-quality paper.

The portrait commission itself costs $80, and includes consultation, the location shoot of up to an hour and presentation of the images.

A folio starts at only $1200 and includes eight enlargements at the sizes you choose, along with a DVD slideshow of all the images from your photo shoot. Your enlargements can be any of the standard print sizes from 6″x9″ up to 24″x36″.

Framed enlargements, from $240, can be framed traditionally with matt and glass or mounted on block or acrylic.

Professional grade photo books, from $820, include a minimum of twenty images, glossy pages, hard cover and a personalised embossed presentation box.

DVD slideshows, from $320, include all of the images from your shoot set to appropriate music.

Corporate Commissions

Commercial clients enjoy an experience tailored precisely to their budget and timeframe.

Good commercial images can help brand your business and sell your products or services, so commissioning a professional photographer is well worth the investment.

Commercial commissions are charged at an hourly rate, half day or full day with a minimum of two hours dedicated to achieving the best result for your business. This may involve staff shots at your office or in-situ shots of your product or services.

All commissions include professional post-production and delivery of your images in both high and low resolution versions for use in print production or online.

Our contract includes a copyright agreement for use of the images, agreed during consultation.

Commercial commissions from $160/hour (minimum two hours) includes consultation and job briefing.
